As Diva Dane mentioned, we went on the Modern Traditions Michigan Shop Hop. There were 6 shops on the hop and we got to 5 of them. (We got hungry.)
Shout out to Pink Castle Fabrics (#pinkcastlefabrics) in Ann Arbor, MI. Everyone was welcoming and very helpful. The shop has great fabric and a wonderful selection of solids. Diva Dane and I are part of their Color Inspirations Club where we get a lovely package of solids at the beginning of each month.
Shout out to Creative Quilt Kits in Brighton, MI. Great selection of fabrics. The staff was very hospitable and patient while Diva Dane and I designed on the fly and took a fair amount of time trying to make up our minds. They invited us to come to the monthly sew in. Although the shop is a ways away from us, Diva Dane and I will try to attend a session since it is on a Friday evening.
Shout out to Quilting Season in Saline, MI. The staff was great. We always like to talk shop, you never know what you may learn. We had a great discussion on thread. Now I have some research to do on the topic. (Look for more on the topic of thread in a future post.)
Shout out to Quilters Garden in Fenton, MI. They have a wide range of colorful fabric.
Shout out to Lake Street Mercantile in South, Lyon. They have a great staff and were very welcoming. They have a very charming store in what seemed to be the heart of downtown. They had some interesting fabrics we had not come across before.
Some of my loot….
We also purchased the Diva Wallet pattern (don’t you love the name) from Creative Quilt Kits designed by Jessica VanDenburgh (sewmanycreationsny.com). It calls for a 8″ wallet frame. The pattern referenced Amelia’s Garden (sewameliasgarden.com) as a source to purchase the frame. I completed a wallet this evening. I really enjoyed making the wallet. The instructions were clear, easy to follow and came together quickly. My wallet…..
